G. Duncan Finlay, MD - CEO - Sarasota Memorial
Hospital
Dr. Finlay joined SMHospital in 1972 as a physician
in 1972. In 1988 he was named chief of staff in 1988. From 1989-1996, he
served as chairman of the medical staff Long Range Planning Committee.
During that time, he also served as the medical director of the hospital's
Sleep Disorders Center. Dr. Finlay retired from private practice in 1996,
when he was appointed vice president for medical affairs and chief medical
officer. He served as interim CEO from March 2000 until his appointment
to the post in May. |

Barbara Ford-Coates - Sarasota County Tax Collector
With the Tax Collector's Office since 1975, Barbara Ford-Coates holds a bachelor's degree in American history from the College of William and Mary.
She is recipient of the Sarasota County League of Women Voters' award for outstanding public service. Her successful office operations with high productivity and high customer satisfaction led to her service on the Sarasota County Reinventing Government Council. Her community activities have included serving as Treasurer of the League of Women Voters, Past President of the Red Cross Guild, Past President of Girls Incorporated, and a Girl Scout leader.

Sonia Pressman Fuentes - writer and public speaker
Sonia Pressman Fuentes was born in Berlin, Germany, of Polish parents,
with whom she came to the U.S. to escape the Holocaust. One of the founders of the National
Organization for Women (NOW) and the first woman attorney in the Office
of the General Counsel at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(EEOC). In 2000 admitted into the Women's Hall of Fame for
Maryland and included in the Gallery of Prominent Refugees of the U.N.
High Commissioner for Refugees. Author of memoirs Eat First - You Don't Know What They'll Give You, The Adventures
of an Immigrant Family and Their Feminist Daughter.
